How is Stonecliffe College Online accredited?

Will the credits I receive through Stonecliffe College Online transfer to another college or university?

Transfer of credit is always up to the receiving institution; however, during your discussion with the institution about transferring credits, you can inform the institution that Stonecliffe College Online is an academic division of Colorado Technical University. Colorado Technical University is a regionally accredited university.

Are the college credits earned in the university's degree programs equivalent to those earned at a traditional university?

Yes. Transcripts do not reflect the delivery method of a course, only the credit hours earned. The objectives and outcomes of online courses are identical to those of an on-site class.



What are the admissions requirements?

To apply for admission, just follow the four steps described here:
1. Complete an online application. When you apply online, your application will be sent electronically to Stonecliffe College Online. There is a $50 application fee. After you submit your application, Stonecliffe College Online will contact you to complete the remaining steps.

2. Conduct a personal telephone interview with one of our Admissions Advisors. All applicants are required to complete a telephone interview. This interview will give you an opportunity to ask questions about the degree program that interests you. Interviews are also used to determine whether applicants are qualified to become students at Stonecliffe College Online. Please feel free to have a parent present for the interview, if it would make you more comfortable.

3. Submit an attestation confirming your high school graduation or its equivalency.

4. If your first language is not English (or if you graduated from a non-English speaking school), TOEFL scores of 500 or other acceptable proof of English proficiency must be submitted.


How long does the admissions process take?

The entire process can take as little as four to seven days to complete. The length of time depends on how soon you complete the personal telephone interview and return all required application documents to Stonecliffe College Online.

What academic programs does Stonecliffe College Online offer?

We offer the following academic programs:



How long do the programs take to complete?

The amount of time it takes to complete each degree program depends on whether you select the accelerated or decelerated option. All students begin with a single course during the first session. However, beginning with the second session, you can choose between an accelerated and decelerated pace.

If you choose the accelerated option, you'll take two courses every 5 ½ week session. By taking two courses at a time, you can complete the Associate's degree program in as little as 15 calendar months.
If you choose the decelerated option, you'll take just one course every 5 ½ week session. By taking just one course at a time, you can complete the degree program in as little as 30 calendar months.

After completing the first 5 ½ week session, all students default to an accelerated pace of study unless they inform their Academic Advisors of their desire to keep learning at a decelerated pace.




How are online academic programs different from degrees offered at traditional campuses?

The primary difference is that online degrees are offered to meet the needs of students with time and location restraints. Although an online degree program may be more convenient for you than one offered at a traditional college campus, the standards are the same.



Does Stonecliffe College Online have an orientation program?

Yes. Our students are required to complete an online orientation before they begin their degree program.



How does an online degree program work?

Online learning allows you to study whenever and wherever it's most convenient for you. This format provides a great deal of flexibility to people with complicated schedules and demanding careers.

Earning your degree online involves interaction with instructors and classmates online, rather than attending class on a traditional campus. Courses are delivered entirely online via the Internet; you will complete all your work using a computer.



What financial aid does Stonecliffe College Online offer?

The university participates in various federal and private financial aid programs that are available for those who qualify. Students who are either enrolled or accepted for enrollment may qualify for financial assistance if their personal financial resources are unable to meet the full cost of their education.



Can I use my employer's tuition reimbursement plan to pay for my program of study?

Most likely. If you are accepted, a Financial Aid Advisor will explain to you how this process works and will assist you with other items pertaining to financial aid.



Will you accept military tuition benefits?

Will I have to attend classes at a campus?

No. Our academic programs are offered and are accessible completely online, giving you the convenience and flexibility to earn your degree wherever you have Internet access.



What will my courses be like?

Our courses include rich multimedia presentations. If you prefer to have a hard copy for notes, you can print the presentation. If during the presentation, you'd like to repeat or move forward with any given concept, that's under your control. If you're a student who likes to ask questions, you can access the "glossary of terms" section available for each course.

Students can also participate in classroom discussions with the instructors and other students. Since some of the students are employed in a variety of interesting professions, you may also gain insightful knowledge from them and can learn from their experiences as well as share your own insights.
