At Stonecliffe College Online, an academic division of Colorado Technical University, when we evaluate your transcript(s), we recognize and take into account that there are differences in the U.S. and international educational systems.
The university accepts credits from institutions accredited by any accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education, including U.S.-accredited international institutions. If you are submitting an English transcript from a U.S.-accredited institution located abroad, we will evaluate it the same way we evaluate transcripts submitted from accredited schools within the U.S.
We will compare your academic credentials to educational programs in the U.S. and place you at the educational level that suits your educational background. The university will evaluate your transcript considering the following criteria:
- Registration with the country's governing academic body
- Course or degree subject area
- Grading scale or criteria
- Unit of credit
- Course or degree descriptions
- Third-party analysis of your country's degree in comparison to a U.S. degree
The university reserves the right to individually evaluate international credentials or to refer them to a credential evaluation service. Our first preference is to send students to Educational Perspectives. You can receive a discount for using this service by noting "CEC Discount" on your application before you submit it.
Any transcripts that we do not evaluate must be referred to a credential evaluation service. If your international credentials are unable to be evaluated by the university, we will refer you to an international credential evaluation service.
